Sandy Hook校園槍擊事件令人無數的家庭心碎，在這座小鎮中有如一道不可抹滅、怵目驚心的傷疤。
因此紀念園區並不應該只是一個弔念的場所，而應該是提供居民一個平靜、追憶的空間。
人與人彼此的陪伴使時間的沉澱、癒合，讓人們以勇氣來面對、重新站起。

在這裡，安息。

設計透過一個逐漸脫離地面的長橋，延伸至一道與世隔絕的巨牆，跨越牆上微小的開口，象徵世與俗的分離。
經由動線的引導，不斷地穿越與轉折，緩緩地進入地下追憶場所，給予寂靜的空間經驗。
在最終離別時，眼前所見的是一片無限延伸的水面，視線的終點回應校園的軸線，在此道別。

Design Description:

Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting was a heartbreaking event, a painful scar in the beautiful town. Not only being a place for mourning the loss, the memorial campus is designed to provide visitors a chance to reflect, to memorize, to face, and to recover from the sadness with courage.
Using the technique of transition space in architecture, stroll in the different space hierarchy, change people's emotion gradually.

This project focus on following points:

a. Time and memory / Memorial setting
b. Missing / Remain space
c. Tranquil mind / Meditation place
d. Inspirational setting / Rousing forum
e. Local and nature / Close to nature

世與俗的邊界：
橋作為儀式性的動線，是過去與現在的連結。穿越時不知不覺脫離開了地表，周遭只剩樹林與眼前純淨的白牆，象徵進入了另一個場域。

紀念公園：
透過一道弧牆暗示公園的動線，並以一個軸線切割出紀念園區的主要活動區域。
連接著人工與自然，使湖泊與森林延伸至整個空間，成為居民休憩的場所。
