藉著對「城市」的探討，嘗試尋找出以建築作為城市中最重要的人類文化實績的觀點下，如何以內容性質相異的群體組成，圍塑出具有都市生活功能的聚落，影響並創造集體的生活記憶，進而探討在都市及建築設計上新的可能性。
City，並非指我們真實生活或居住的行政區域，而是用來描述一種集體性的，彼此個體間有特定相互關係的系統或空間型態。藉由對經典城市空間的研究及轉化，探討對建築群體關係的觀點及論述。
本案分析曼谷作為論述案例，並探討其成為建築群體對應都市空間而形成的組織系統。都市中皇宮、寺廟、公園廣場等超巨大空間佔據了都市的節點與軸線，和周圍的庶民空間形成強烈的差異，河流與道路不同速度之間缺少交流的特性，使都市被切分成兩個層次，顯示曼谷混合的都市紋理。
在新營基地建置成以「書」為生活主題的city，閱讀、展覽、印製、典藏、出版亦能在此與常民的居住、工作及消費互相結合，形成和周圍社區關係緊密的有機架構。
Issue Discussion:
Through the discussion of "city", trying to find out the most important human culture in the city, how to form a group with the characteristics of urban, influence and create collectives the memory of the living, and then explore new possibilities in urban and architecture.
City, which does not represent the administrative area of our real life, describes a system or a spatial pattern that has a specific interrelationship with each other. Through the research and transformation of the classic urban space, study the relationship of building groups.
